Multi-layered, at the top, is a clear, strong melamine sheet (wear layer) that protects the floors from scratches, scuffs and keeps spills from absorbing. On top of that is a clear urethane coating to add extra strength and shine.Like all vinyl, this is low maintenance, only requiring regular sweeping and periodic mopping. Installation can also be easy, especially when the floor floats, meaning that the pieces click together, mat, and then hover over the subfloor without nails or glue.
